When tackling the problems you should:
§       Read the whole problem carefully, including all the questions and information. Get a feel for how the questions develop and what the overall problem is about.
§       Identify important information from the text, charts and diagrams.
§       Write down any decisions or assumptions you have made.
§       Plan how to answer the problem - some problems are structured to help you do this.
§       Write down the stages you will work through to solve the problem.
§       Work through the stages you have planned, checking that your answers make sense as you go along.
§       Write down any calculations you have done.
§       Remember to write in any units that are needed. You can work out what these are from the problem. You won't be told to do this but you do need to include them so that your answer makes sense.
§       Write out your final answer in a sentence, explaining how you know it is correct.
§       When you've answered the problem, read the question again to check you've actually answered it.
